話せなかったらどういう気持ちかを想像しながら話すこと
I always do my best to listen to the children.
When I communicate with them, I imagine how they feel if they can’t express their thoughts verbally.
卒園後、どのような人になってほしいですか？
What qualities do you want the students to have after they graduate?
自分で決めることができる子になってほしいです。
そのためにできるだけ子どもたちのそれぞれの意見を大切に聞き、尊重したいと思って対応しています。
I want them to be able to make decisions for themselves.
I pay close attention to each child and act in a respectful manner.
「遊び」から得られることは？
What can children learn through playing?
勉強では身につくことのできない社会性が身につく。
自分で解決する能力が身につく。
そこにまだ大人は関わらないといけませんが、どんどん大人が関わっていくことができるのは、幼稚園までだと思いますので、幼稚園年齢の間にたくさんお友だちと遊んで、ケンカして、どのように考え対応すべきかを学んでほしいです。そういったことからコミュニケーション能力が培われます。
The children learn social skills that cannot be taught by studying, like learning to solve problems on their own. At their age, adult intervention is necessary and you can only actively intervene while they are still in kindergarten. I want them to learn, play and fight with each other so they can learn how to respond. Experiences like these help to build their communication skills.
これまでの教員生活で、特にやりがいを感じたことは？
What has been the most rewarding moment of your teaching career so far?
間違えることを恐れて発表に積極性を持たなかった子どもが、一年間「間違えてもいい、また挑戦しよう」と声を掛け続け、卒園時には発表できるどころか友だちにも「大丈夫！また挑戦すればいいんだよ」と励ましている姿を見たとき。
There was a child who was afraid of failure and I kept telling them that it was okay to make mistakes and that we should try again. By the time that child graduated kindergarten, they were encouraging their friends to try again in the same way.
KIAの教育の魅力は何だと思いますか？ What do you think makes the education at KIA appealing?
常に前を向いて進んでいることだと思います。時代が変わるにつれて教育や教育者の考えも変わることが大切だと感じており、保守的にならないKIAは魅力的だと思っています。
It’s always evolving. Education and educators must change as the times change with the times so it is great that KIA is always keeping up.
他の教員との連携やサポート体制について教えてください。
What are your thoughts on working relationships with your coworkers and the support system?
リーダーや主任が一生懸命に取り組み、良い姿勢をスタッフに見せることで、皆が話しやすい環境になっていると思います。
たくさんのキャンパスがある中で園のカリキュラムを全校できているのは、カリキュラムラボの皆さんがきちんと機能させているからだと思います。
The leaders and homeroom teachers are dedicated and are role models for the staff. We have a communicative environment.
Even though there are campuses, the Curriculum Lab is working hard to create an excellent curriculum for each one.
