G5（小学5年生）クラスにG12（高校3年生）の生徒2名を迎え、Model United Nations（MUN／模擬国連）で培った知識や経験について共有していただきました。
ガバナンスについて探究しているG5の生徒たちにとって、各国がどのように協力して地球規模の課題解決に取り組んでいるのかについて、理解を深める貴重な学びの機会となりました。
G5の生徒たちは事前にしっかりと準備を行い、リサーチ力の高さと強い関心が伝わる多くの質問を積極的に投げかけていました。
ゲストスピーカーとして参加したG12の生徒たちは、G7からさまざまなMUNカンファレンスに参加しており、昨年度はCASプロジェクトの一環として、初となるKIAMUN Conferenceの企画・運営を行い、議長も務めました。当日はその豊富な経験をもとに、多くの新しい視点や学びを共有してくれました。
今回の交流を通して、G5の生徒たちも今後のMUNディスカッションに活かせる多くのヒントを得ることができました。数年後には、KIA中高等部のMUN Clubで活躍する姿が見られるかもしれません。
The G5 class welcomed G12 Sumire Akamatsu and Rio Murakata to discuss their knowledge and experience of Model United Nation (MUN). Studying governance, the G5 students aimed to better understand the ways that countries try to solve global issues together.
The G5s prepared and asked lots of meaningful questions, showing excellent research skills, and great interest. Both Sumire and Rio have participated in a range of MUN Conferences since they began G7, and even planned and chaired the first KIAMUN Conference last year as a part of their CAS project. As such, they brought a wealth of knowledge to the session, and shared many ideas that were new and enlightening. The G5s will no doubt be able to use this experience to better facilitate their own MUN discussions, and perhaps join the MUN Club in secondary school in a few years time.
