先日、10月26日（月）、関西国際学園神戸校にて、世界トップレベルの理工系大学である Imperial College London（インペリアル・カレッジ・ロンドン）より、Regional ManagerのJake Ganymede氏をお迎えし、特別説明会を開催しました。
当日は、本学園の生徒・保護者に加え、近隣のインターナショナルスクールや私立中学校からもご参加いただき、学校の枠を越えて海外大学での学びについて考える貴重な機会となりました。
説明会では、科学、工学、医学、ビジネスの分野で世界をリードするインペリアル・カレッジ・ロンドンの教育・研究の特色をはじめ、出願方法や入学要件、学生生活などについて詳しくお話しいただきました。
さらに、2027年から新たに開始される留学生向け奨学金「Imperial Inspires Scholarship」についてもご紹介いただき、世界トップレベルの大学への進学をより身近な選択肢として考える機会となりました。
世界の最先端では、どのような研究が行われているのか。
科学や技術は、社会が直面する課題の解決にどのようにつながっているのか。
そして、自分自身の興味や探究心を、将来どのような学びへと発展させていくことができるのか。
今回の説明会は、生徒たちが世界に目を向け、自らの可能性を広げるきっかけとなりました。
関西国際学園では、海外大学への進学そのものを「ゴール」とするのではなく、その先で何を学び、どのように社会に貢献していくのかを大切にしています。
今後も、世界の大学や教育機関とのつながりを通じて、生徒たちが多様な進路や将来の可能性に触れ、自分自身の未来を主体的に切り拓いていく機会を提供してまいります。
On Monday, October 26, Kansai International Academy (KIA) Kobe Campus had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Jake Ganymede, Regional Manager at Imperial College London, one of the world’s leading universities in science, engineering, medicine, and business, for a special university information session.
The event brought together KIA students and parents, as well as participants from nearby international schools and private secondary schools, providing a valuable opportunity for the wider educational community to explore the possibilities of studying at a world-class university.
During the session, Mr. Ganymede shared insights into Imperial College London’s distinctive approach to education and research, its academic programs, application procedures, entry requirements, and student life.
He also introduced the “Imperial Inspires Scholarship,” a new scholarship initiative for international students launching in 2027, offering students and families an exciting opportunity to consider new pathways to higher education at one of the world’s leading universities.
Questions covered during the presentation included:
What kind of research is taking place at the forefront of science and technology?
How can scientific discoveries and technological innovations help address the challenges facing our world?
And how can students turn their own curiosity and interests into meaningful academic pursuits and future contributions to society?
The session encouraged students to look beyond their immediate surroundings, broaden their perspectives, and imagine new possibilities for their futures.
