今回は、関西国際学園中高等部を卒業し、国内外のさまざまな舞台で学び、活躍している卒業生たちがKIAに帰ってきてくれました！
岡山大学医学部、高知大学医学部、東京藝術大学、ICUなど、それぞれの道を歩む先輩たちから、KIAでの学校生活、受験、大学生活、そして将来について、リアルな経験を語っていただきました。
KIAのよさは？
「先生との距離が近い」
「グループで学ぶ機会が多い」
「自分で問いを立てて考える経験ができた」
「日本語と英語、両方で学べた」
受験のモチベーションを保つには？
「とにかく、まず手を動かす！」
「自分へのご褒美を用意する」
「カフェや図書館など、集中できる環境に身を置く」
今振り返って、もっとしておけばよかったことは？
「自分自身を常に分析しておくこと」
「期限を守る習慣をつけること」
そして多くの先輩から挙がったのが、「他の言語ももっと学んでおけばよかった」という言葉でした。
「不安やプレッシャーとは、どう向き合う？」
「不安定な気持ちを無理に否定しない」
「最後まで学びを止めない。試験直前までできることはある」
進路も目標もそれぞれ違う先輩たち。
それでも、その言葉の一つひとつから、KIAで培った自ら考え、問い、行動する姿勢が、その後の人生につながっていることが感じられる時間となりました。
先輩たちの「生の声」を通して、在校生や保護者の皆様にとって、少し先の未来を具体的に思い描く機会になっていれば嬉しく思います。

We held a special “Welcome, Senpai” event
KIA alumni, who are studying at domestic and foreign universities are thriving in their own way. They have returned to KIA for a special event!
They now attend universities like Okayama University Medical School, Kochi Medical School, Tokyo University of Arts, and ICU. They candidly discussed topics like school life at KIA, university entrance exams, life in university and their future. We asked their opinions on a variety of topics and here are some of their responses:
What was great about KIA?
“The students and teachers are very close”
“Learning in a group setting”
“Formulating our own questions”
“Learning in both Japanese and English”
How did you stay motivated while studying for entrance exams?
“I stopped thinking too much and to just got started”
“I created rewards for yourself”
“I put myself in an environment where it’s easy to stay focused, like a cafe or a library”
Looking back, what do you wish you had done differently?
“I should have analyzed myself more”
“I should’ve gotten into the habit of following deadlines”
Additionally, many of the alumni expressed regret not having learned more languages.
How did you deal with anxiety and pressure?
“When you have these negative feelings, don’t try hard to suppress them”
“Never stop learning until the very last minute. Everything counts”
The alumni may have gone their separate ways and may have different goals.
However, we felt that the skills they acquired at KIA like thinking on their own, formulating questions and taking action have shaped who they are today.
We hope that hearing directly from the KIA alumni has helped current students and parents imagine what their futures will look like in the future in clear detail.
