先日、関西国際学園神戸校にて、世界最高峰の大学の一つである University of Cambridge より、東アジア地域マネージャー Dr. Luis Perez 氏をお迎えし、特別説明会を開催しました。
説明会では、出願方法や入学要件といったアドミッション情報だけでなく、ケンブリッジ大学での「学び」そのものについて深くお話しいただきました。
なぜ問い続けることが大切なのか。
なぜ世界中から優秀な学生たちが集まり、互いに刺激し合いながら学ぶのか。
そして、大学での学びが、単なる知識の習得ではなく、自ら考え、探究し続ける姿勢につながっていること。
生徒たちは真剣な表情で耳を傾け、多くの質問を投げかけていました。世界トップレベルの学問に触れ、「もっと学びたい」「世界に挑戦したい」という気持ちが高まる、大変刺激的な時間となりました。
関西国際学園では、海外大学進学を“ゴール”としてではなく、その先にある「どのように学び、どのように社会に貢献していくか」を大切にしています。今回の説明会は、生徒たちにとって未来への視野を広げる貴重な機会となりました。
【University of Cambridge Information Session Held at KIA Kobe Campus】
Recently, Kansai International Academy Kobe Campus had the honor of welcoming Dr. Luis Perez, Regional Manager for East Asia from the University of Cambridge, for a special information session.
The session went far beyond the simple discussion of admissions procedures and entry requirements. Dr. Perez shared valuable insights into the true nature of learning at Cambridge and the academic culture that defines one of the world’s leading universities. Throughout the course of the presentation, the audience were inspired to consider important questions related to the value of learning:
Why is it important to keep questioning?
Why do talented students from around the world gather to learn from and inspire one another?
How does university learning become more than the acquisition of knowledge, evolving instead into a lifelong pursuit of inquiry and critical thinking?
Our students listened attentively and asked thoughtful questions throughout the session. Being exposed to world-class academic perspectives inspired many of them to think more deeply about their futures and broaden their aspirations toward global challenges and opportunities.
At Kansai International Academy, we believe that admission to overseas universities is not the final goal. More importantly, we value how students learn, grow, and ultimately contribute to society. This session provided a meaningful opportunity for our students to expand their perspectives and imagine their future pathways.
