環境委員会では、保護者メンバーの皆さまが中心となり、環境にやさしい取り組みの一環として、役割を終えた制服やハウスTシャツ、体操服を活用した「アップサイクリングプロジェクト」を実施しています。
Hand me down (次の方へ受け継ぐために集められた制服や衣類)の中で活用が難しかった小さなサイズの服や、少し汚れのある衣類たち。
そのまま処分してしまうのではなく、「使い古しでも無駄にしない」という“もったいない精神”から、ひとつひとつ心を込めて手作業で新しいアイテムへと生まれ変わらせました。
手作りアイテムのご紹介
リボンスカーフやキーホルダー、カチューシャなど、アイデアと手仕事によって生まれた世界にひとつだけの温かみがあるアイテムが揃いました。
想いをつなぐ、子どもたちの学びへ
この取り組みを通じてお寄せいただいた皆さまからの温かいお気持ちやご協力は、子どもたちの今後の学びを支える活動に大切に繋げさせていただきます。
これまでにも環境委員会では、保護者と学校が一体となり、学園を美しくする「ランドスケーピングデー」の実施をはじめ、ビオトープの活用やお米づくり体験など、子どもたちが自然や環境に触れ合う豊かな学びの場をサポートしてきました。
ただモノを再利用するだけでなく、「サステナブルな選択が子どもたちの未来への学びにつながる」ーそんな巡りを、これからも保護者の皆さまと共に大切に育てていきたいと考えています。
こうして皆さまが心を込めて形にしてくださった温かいアクションのひとつひとつが、子どもたちの学びの環境を支える大きな力となっています。
最高の教育は、情熱あふれる教員、自律して学ぶ生徒、そして想いを共有する保護者の存在があってこそ成り立ちます。この三者が共に創り上げる「共創の教育」—これこそが、関西国際学園が唯一無二であり続ける最大の誇りです。

Turning “Mottainai” into Future Learning: Our Upcycling Project
As part of our eco-friendly initiatives, the Environment Committee has been running an “Upcycling Project” led by our parent members, giving new life to used school uniforms , house T-shirts and P.E. uniforms.
Rather than discarding items from the Hand Me Down project that were too small or slightly stained, they were lovingly transformed into new handmade items based on our belief in “Mottainai”—not letting anything go to waste.

Ribbon scarves, keychains, headbands, and more—each one is a one-of-a-kind item thoughtfully created with creativity, care, and handmade craftsmanship.
Connecting Our Community to Children’s Growth
The warm support and generosity received through this project will be used to enrich our students’ learning experiences.
The Environment Committee has continuously supported rich opportunities for children to connect with nature and the environment—working hand in hand with parents and the school through events like the Landscaping Day and rice-planting to beautify our campus and utilize our biotope.
It is not just about recycling; we want to continue nurturing a sustainable mindset together with parents—where eco-friendly choices directly contribute to our children’s future education.
Every thoughtful action created with care by our community serves as a strong force supporting our students’ learning environment.
The highest quality of education is achieved through passionate teachers, inquiring students, and parents who share the same vision. This co-creative education, built together by all three, is one of the defining features of Kansai International Academy.
