先生として最も大切にしていることは？What is the most important thing to keep in mind as an educator?
子どもたちの持つ個性を尊重して、それぞれの力を伸ばせるようにすることを大切にしています。誰かと比べることもなく、常にどんな状況でも一人一人と向き合うようにし、その中で私はなにができるのか、どうしたら彼らが持っている力を十分に発揮できるのか考えながら保育をしています。
I respect each child’s unique personality and do my best to nurture it. I do not compare children. I always try to engage deeply with every child. I am always thinking about how I can make the most of every moment and how to bring out the best out of every child.
卒園後、どのような人になってほしいですか？What qualities do you want the students to have after they graduate?
どんな環境の中でも自分で考えて自分で立ち上がり行動に移せる人になってほしいと思います。
普段から何かあったときまずは子どもたちの気持ちに寄り添い共感することを大切にしています。そして何事にも”What do you think?”とまずは子どもたちの意見を聞きます。子どもたちは日常の中で意見を求められる機会が多いので、はじめは”I don’t know.”と言う子どもたちですが、次第に考える力がつき、どんどん”I think ~.”と自分の意見を言ってくれるようになりました。また「失敗してもいい、でも挑戦してみようよ」と声をかけながらまずはなんでも「挑戦する」ということに重きをおいています。小さな成功体験の積み重ねが、子どもたちの自信に繋がっていくのだなと日々の保育の中で実感しています。
I want them to be able to think for themselves and take the initiative, wherever they are.
When something happens, I show empathy towards what the children are going through. I always ask, ‘What do you think?’ They are often asked so many questions that they initially respond with ‘I don’t know’, but eventually they express their thoughts with ‘I think~’. I encourage them to take on challenges, telling them that it’s okay to fail and that they should challenge themselves. Through achieving small successes, the children learn to become more confident.
「遊び」から得られることは？What can children learn through playing?
遊びを通して子どもたちは友だちとの関わり方や、思ったことを言葉で伝える力、自分で考えて行動する力、自分のすきなことを探究するなど、これからの成長にとって大事なことをたくさん経験していきます。私のクラスでは、”A good player is a good looser”をモットーにクラスみんなでRed light green light（だるまさんがころんだ）や椅子取りゲームをします。はじめの頃は、負けると泣いたり、「もうやらない！」と拗ねたりして4月は全員が試合放棄状態に。そこで「負けてももう一回やってみる！」と「負けてもまた立ち上がって挑戦するのがいいプレイヤーだよ」ということを伝え続けると「もうやりたくない！」と泣いていた子たちが「負けちゃったよー！でも次頑張る！」とまた挑戦したり他の子を応援しはじめたり。遊びから心の成長につながる瞬間を見ることができるので毎回楽しみにしています。
これまでの教員生活で、特にやりがいを感じたことは？
子どもたちが「できた！」と言ってキラキラした笑顔を見れる瞬間にやりがいを感じます。日々生活する中でそのような場面をたくさん見るのですが、長期的にみると日常で起こる小さな成長の積み重ねが大きな成長につながっていて一年を振り返ったときに「本当に大きく成長したな」と子どもたちの変化を近くで向き合いサポートできることに日々やりがいを感じています。
Through play, children can learn many important things for their growth, such as how to socialize with friends, communicate their thoughts, and develop a deep understanding of the things they enjoy. In my class, we play games such as Red Light, Green Light and musical chairs, with the motto ‘A good player is a good loser’. However, in April, most of the children stopped playing because someone would cry and refuse to play again after losing. After I taught them the importance of trying again, emphasizing that a good player tries again after losing, children who were crying and refusing to play would learn to say, ‘I lost, but I’ll try harder next time,’ and cheer on their classmates. I always look forward to witnessing these moments of growth through play.
KIAの教育の魅力は何だと思いますか？What do you think makes the education at KIA appealing?
めまぐるしい時代の変化にも適応する教育環境が整っていること、そして子どもたちがいきいきと成長できる環境が整っていることが、私は魅力に感じています。
教員として働いていても、常にベストの教育とは何かを考えてカリキュラムがアップデートされたり、「こうであってあたりまえ」という概念に執着することがなくなりました。
先生たちのこうした姿勢が子どもたちにも良い影響を及ぼし、子どもたちから発信される好奇心や疑問をすぐに感じとることができたり、学びへと落とし込むことができるので、日々子どもたが「楽しく学ぶ」環境が作り上げられていることは他にはない強みだと感じています。
It has the educational resources to adapt to changing times, as well as an open environment in which children can grow.
KIA is updating the curriculum so that we can provide the best education. As an educator I am no longer clinging on to how things should be.
This mindset has a positive influence on the children. It also allows teachers to explore their own curiosity and questions, leading to new learning. Every day, we are building a learning environment where children can learn in a fun way.
他の教員との連携やサポート体制について教えてください。What are your thoughts on working relationships with your coworkers and the support system?
チームとして一丸となって協力し合うことができる環境だと思います。何か課題があっても手を差し伸べてくれる方ばかりで、常に「みんなで解決していく」という雰囲気があります。私自身も入社当初からリーダーやマネージャーの方々に日々支えていただいた思い出があり、それが今に繋がっていると思います。産休育休を経て復帰し、日々楽しく働けているのも周りの支えがあったからだと思います。
Everyone helps each other and works together as one. Whenever a problem arises, we solve problems together by being there for each other. Ever since I started working here, leaders and managers have supported me and that has led me to where I am today. I am able to enjoy working after taking parental leave thanks to all the support I have received from everyone.

大切なお子様が大きくなった10年後、20年後どのような世界になっているか想像したことはありますか？予測できない世界でも、「自分の力を信じて立ち上がることができる」そういう子であれば、どんな世界でもやっていけると信じています。私たちは、子どもたちが自分で考え、挑戦し、失敗してもまた立ち上がる。そんな人になれるように日々子どもたちと関わっています。幼稚園の3年間は子どもたちの人生の基盤を作り上げる時です。ぜひその大切な時間を私たちにお任せしていただければと思っています。
Have you ever wondered what the world will be like in the next 10, 20 years? In an unpredictable world, children who can believe in themselves and persevere will be able to overcome any obstacles, no matter what the future brings. We encourage the children to think for themselves, embrace new challenges and support them to stand up when they fall. The three years they spend in kindergarten will lay a foundation for the rest of their lives. We hope that you will trust us with this important time in their lives.
