7月初旬、5年生はNHK BKプラザと大阪城を訪れ、メディアがどのように制作・発信されているのか、そして歴史とのつながりについて理解を深めました。
NHK BKプラザでは、テレビ放送の世界を楽しく学びました。グリーンスクリーンやブルースクリーンがどのように使われているのかを知り、実際にその技術を体験することもできました。また、ニュースキャスターがカメラから目線を外さずにニュースを読むための特別な原稿の仕組みについても学び、番組制作の舞台裏を知る貴重な機会となりました。
その後は大阪城を訪れ、本校5年生の児童による特別ガイドツアーに参加しました。この児童は、普段からボランティアとして海外からの観光客に大阪城を案内しており、その豊富な知識をクラスメイトにも分かりやすく紹介してくれました。大阪城の歴史や城内外で繰り広げられた戦い、そして美しい城がどのように築かれたのかについて学び、日本を代表する歴史的建造物への理解を深めることができました。
今回の校外学習で最も印象的だったのは、子どもたちがメディア展示や歴史的な場所に興味をもち、自ら積極的に質問をしたり、教室で学んだことと実際の体験を結び付けながら学びを深めていた姿です。この校外学習は、見学を楽しむだけでなく、新しい発見をし、仲間とともに学び合う貴重な機会となりました。
At the beginning of July, our Grade 5 students travelled to NHK BK Plaza and Osaka Castle to deepen their understanding of how media is created, shared, and connected to history.
At NHK BK Plaza, students explored the fascinating world of television broadcasting. They discovered how green screens and blue screens are used to create different scenes and even experienced the technology for themselves. They also learned how news presenters read from a special script while maintaining eye contact with the camera, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to produce a professional news broadcast.
Afterwards, the class visited Osaka Castle, where they were treated to a special guided tour by one of our very own Grade 5 students. Outside of school, he volunteers his time to guide international visitors around the castle, and he proudly shared his knowledge with his classmates. Students learned about the castle’s rich history, the important battles that took place on its grounds, and the remarkable engineering and craftsmanship behind one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks.
The most rewarding moment was seeing our students engage with both the media exhibits and the historical site with genuine curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and making meaningful connections between what they had learned in the classroom and the world around them. The excursion became more than just a day of sightseeing—it was an opportunity to explore, discover, and learn from one another.
