1月24日、さくらインターナショナルスクール初等部にて、2年ぶりとなる「おやじの会」を開催いたしました。
午前の部は、関西国際学園神戸校より世良田マネージャーと宮代副校長が来校しての開催でした。
世界基準の教育プログラムである国際バカロレア（IB）MYP・DPの具体的なカリキュラムについて、また中高等部を卒業後の展望をご紹介しました。
卒業生として、東京藝術大学でヴァイオリンを専攻している絢音さんと、岡山大学医学部に進学した壮良さんが参加し、保護者のみなさまのご質問に回答してくれました。
「探究学習が今の学びにどう活きているか」を堂々と語る卒業生の姿は、まさに本校が理想とする「自ら道を切り拓くリーダー」そのものであり、その成長ぶりにスタッフ一同、深い感銘を受けました。
セッションの後は、カフェテリアでランチ交流会を実施しました。同じ教育理念のもとでお子様を育てる保護者様同士、リラックスした雰囲気の中で「家庭でのバイリンガル教育の取り入れ方」や「将来の進路」など、美味しい食事を囲みながら語り合う非常に有意義なひとときとなりました。
午後は、カリキュラムラボ顧問で脳科学者の茂木健一郎先生と、本校OBでスタンフォード大学へ進学し起業された山本泰豊さんをゲストに迎えた特別セッションを実施しました。
「AIに代替されないスキルとは」という保護者の皆様からの質問に対し、茂木先生と泰豊さんによる深い洞察と熱い議論が交わされる、非常に濃密な時間となりました。
今回のイベントを支えてくれたのは、立派に成長した卒業生たちです。
保護者様がプログラムに集中できるよう、自ら子どもたちの保育を引き受けてくれた卒業生もおり、子どもたちに優しく寄り添う姿に、本校が大切にしている「責任感を持って社会に貢献するリーダー」の精神が、確かに受け継がれていることを実感いたしました。
最後となりますが、ご多忙の中ご参加いただいた保護者の皆様、誠にありがとうございました。
On January 24, We held a “Oyaji-no-kai” (Roundtable for Fathers) for the first time in two years at Sakura International Elementary.
For the morning session, we welcomed Ms. Serata and Mr. Miyashiro, who are the business manager and principal at Kansai International Academy Kobe Campus.
They discussed the International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP and DP curriculum in detail and the students’ paths after graduating from secondary school.
Two graduates, Ayane and Sola, took questions from the parents. Ayane is currently studying the violin at Tokyo University of the Arts. Sola is currently studying medicine at Okayama University.
They talked about how they are utilizing inquiry learning now in a confident manner. They exemplify the leadership that we envision at the school. We were all emotionally moved by their growth.
After the talk session, we gathered in the cafeteria for lunch for a mingling session. The parents, who share the same vision, discussed topics such as how to introduce a Japanese and English bilingual education at home and career paths. There were so many meaningful conversations being held surrounded by the marvelous food.
During the afternoon session, Dr. Ken Mogi, a neuroscientist and Curriculum Lab advisor, and Hiroto Yamamoto, a former KIA student who started a company after attending Stanford, held a special “Oyaji-no-kai” session.
A parent asked a question about which skills cannot be replaced by AI. Mr. Mogi and Mr. Yamamoto provided in-depth answers and engaged in a lively discussion.
The event was not possible without the students who attended our school.
Former students took care of the guests’ children so they could focus on the event. These students exemplify our school vision of being a “responsible leader who can contribute to global society.”
