2019年度から続く関西国際学園中高等部のデザインフェア。今年も2月21日に開催しました。
このイベントの目的は、生徒たちがDesign & Technologyの授業の中で培ってきたスキルや学びを統合し、自分たちのアイデアを現実世界で大胆に表現すること、そしてその成果を保護者の皆さまや来場者の方々と共有することです。
今年のテーマは 「拡張（Expansion）」
生徒たちは、MYPで学んできた知識や技術をさらに発展させ、新たな挑戦に取り組みました。
- 布地と縫製を学んだグループは、染色や絞り染めへと技術を拡張。
- 照明器具を制作したグループでは、紙を透過した光の暖かさや、自由に変化させられるさまざまな色彩の光の効果を探究。
- G9/10（中学3年、高校1年生）の生徒たちは、PythonやLuaのプログラミングを応用し、実際にプレイできるビデオゲームを開発。
一人ひとりの創造性、問題解決力、そして個性が存分に発揮された一日となりました。

The Design Fair, a tradition at our school since 2019, was held again this year on February 21st.
The purpose of this event is for students to integrate the skills and knowledge they have developed in their Design & Technology classes and to boldly express their ideas in the real world. It is also an opportunity to share their learning and achievements with parents and visitors.
This year’s theme was “Expansion.” Students extended the knowledge and techniques they have learned in MYP Design and took on new challenges. For example:
- One group that studied fabric and sewing, expanded their skills into dyeing and tie-dye techniques.
- A group that created lighting fixtures explored the warmth of light transmitted through paper and investigated the effects of various colors that could be freely changed.
- G9/10 students applied their knowledge of Python and Lua programming to develop fully playable video games.
It was a day in which each student’s creativity, problem-solving ability, and individuality were fully demonstrated.
