Hello! This is KOBE Campus!
On November 10th, our students in the Kindergarten Department went to Kosokuno Farm in Kobe City's Nishi Ward to dig for sweet potatoes.
Everyone was excited to get on the bus and go on a field trip for the first time in a long time.
They enjoyed seeing frogs and various insects and said "kyah!" every time they found something! We were able to harvest a surprisingly large amount of sweet potatoes!
The sweet potatoes we were able to harvest were of a variety called “Silk Sweet”, which is supposed to get sweeter after about a month of storage!
What will they be able to cook with the sweet potatoes? We look forward to hearing from the students!
It was a fun event that also led to food education.
