Drawing inspiration from Mozart on how to help your children develop non-cognitive skills
【Content】
We started to hear the phrase “non-cognitive skills” more often when discussing child development. These are essential skills we need to survive in today’s society, which cannot be measured through tests, such as the ability to work towards goals, self-control and cooperation.
At KIA, we emphasize the importance of playing and enjoying music but how does music affect child development? Music can play an important role when it comes to helping children develop their non-cognitive skills.
Children grow and develop their own ideas and thoughts through music, which helps them build character. This affects not only them but also the adults around them by allowing everyone to make new discoveries and enrich their hearts.
For this Coffee Morning, we present to you Ms. Mutsumi Suzuki, who is in charge of Kansai International Academy music school in the Kanto area. Through Mozart’s songwriting and episodes from his life, we will explore the messages that children, the leaders of the future, need to hear.
