初等部の保護者の皆さんこんにちは！
突然ですが、皆さんに問題です！
【てこの三原則の「支点」「力点」とあと一つは何ですか？】
この問題は、小学校で出される知識を問われる問題です。皆さんお分かりの通り答えは、「作用点」ですよね。学校教育を受けてきた私たちは、覚えていればすぐに答えられる問題だと思います。
ではこちらはどうでしょうか。
【てこの原理が応用されている例と、その原理が社会に与える影響について説明してください。】
突然問題が難しくなったように感じますよね。それは、私たち大人がこれまで受けてきた学校教育においてこのような問題について考えてこなかったからです。ちなみにこの問題は、正解が無限に存在するオープンエンドな問いの例です。
一つ目の問題は、いわゆる知識基盤型（Konwledge Based）学習で問われる問題の例です。二つ目の問題は、探究型または、概念/スキル（Concepts / Skills Based）学習で問われる問題の例です。
では、これからの社会を生きる子どもたちにとって必要なのは、どちらの問題に答えられる力でしょうか？
これについては、様々な意見があることと思いますが、KIAの保護者の皆さんは、「二つ目の問題」と答えるのではないでしょうか。
今回のコーヒーモーニングでは、概念/スキル学習について取りあげます。そもそも「概念とは何か」「スキルとは何か」について考えてみたり、実際の教室で「どのように概念を理解する/スキルを育む学習」が行われているのかについて見たりしながら、皆さんと一緒に楽しみながら学びを深めていければと思っています。

Greetings to the elementary school parents/guardians.
This is all of a sudden but we have a question for you!
【The three principles of levers are “fulcrum”, “effort” and what is the last one?】
This question requires us to recall knowledge we acquired in elementary school. As you may know, the answer is “load”. For those who have received school education, it is easy to answer this question because we have memorized the answer.
Now, how about this question.
【What is an example of a principle of a lever and what effect does the principle have on society?】
Suddenly it feels like the question has become much more difficult. That is because as adults, we were never posed with questions like this in our school education. By the way, this is an example of an open-ended question that has an infinite amount of correct answers.
The first question is an example of a knowledge-based question.
The second question is an example of an inquiry-based or a concept/skill based question.
Now, for students who are going to live in the future society, the ability to answer which question is more important?
People may have different opinions but KIA parents/guardians would answer the latter (the second question).
For this Coffee Morning, we are going to talk about concept/skill learning. We are going to cover the basics such as “what are concepts?” and “what are skills?”.
We are going to see how lessons are conducted in the classroom and see how the students are understanding concepts and learning skills.
