横浜青葉校では、子どもたちは日本語クラスも楽しみにしています！
乳幼児部は、”Please press your Japanese botton!”の掛け声で英語から日本語にみんなでスイッチ！朝の日本語のサークルタイムの時間を子どもたちも楽しみにしています。
幼稚園部での日本語クラスでは、学年ごとにひらがなやカタカナ、漢字など読み書きの練習を進めています。カード学習や教科書を使った勉強に加えて、季節ごとの製作活動や、月ごとに変わる童謡や手遊び歌を日々楽しんでいます。
日本語の探究学習では、英語だけではなく日本語を使って話し合いをしたり、テーマにそった学習を通して、日本語で自分の考えを話す力を養っています。

In the ELC classes, everyone switches from English to Japanese with the cheerful phrase, “Please press your Japanese button!” The children eagerly anticipate their morning Japanese circle time.
In the Kindergarten Program’s Japanese classes, students practice reading and writing—such as hiragana, katakana, and kanji—according to their grade level. Along with card activities and textbook learning, they also enjoy seasonal crafts, as well as traditional songs and finger plays that change every month.
In Japanese inquiry-based learning, children engage in discussions not only in English but also in Japanese. Through theme-based activities, they are developing the ability to express their own thoughts and ideas in Japanese.
