知的な活力が未来を創る：スタンフォード×起業家の山本泰豊（Hiroto Yamamoto）さん来校
10月24日、中高等部の生徒たちは、特別なキャリアガイダンス授業を体験しました。ゲストスピーカーは 山本泰豊さん。関西国際学園初等部に在籍し、その後シンガポールや北京で学び、日本でDPを取得。その後、産業技術総合研究所で脳とコンピュータをつなぐ研究に携わり、スタンフォード大学でAIを専攻。さらに起業家として、ヒューマノイドロボットやAI技術の開発をリードされています。
授業では、自身の経験や学びのプロセス、進路の考え方についてお話しいただきました。「知的な活力（intellectual vitality）」「自分の興味関心を深めることが将来の進路につながる」「大学での学び」「なぜ起業したのか」「困難に直面した時の心の在り方」など、生徒たちにとって自分の未来を考えていく上で大きなヒントとなる内容でした。
生徒たちは先輩のリアルな経験談から刺激を受け、自分の学びや将来について具体的に考え、話し合う貴重な時間を過ごしました。
Intellectual Vitality Shapes the Future: Hiroto Yamamoto, Stanford Graduate and Entrepreneur, Visits KIA
KIA Secondary welcomed the guest speaker, Mr. Hiroto Yamamoto for a special career guidance session on October 24th. He attended KIA Elementary, then studied in a school in Singapore and Beijing before completing the DP in Japan. He subsequently worked at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology on research connecting the human brain and computers, and later studied AI at Stanford University. As an entrepreneur, he has led the development of humanoid robots and AI technologies.
During the session, he shared his personal learning experiences throughout his school years including DP, and perspectives on career planning. Topics included “intellectual vitality,” “deepening your interests and how it relates to your future,” “learning at university,” “the reason he became an entrepreneur,” and “mindset when facing challenges,” providing students with valuable insights for thinking about their own futures.
Our students were inspired by the real-life experiences of an alumnus, taking the time to reflect, discuss, and consider their own learning and future pathways.
