10月17日（金）、関西国際学園神戸校に武蔵大学 国際教養学部 学部長 東郷賢先生をお迎えし、保護者・中高等部生徒を対象に「パラレル・ディグリー・プログラム（PDP）」の説明会を開催しました。
説明会では、
- PDPの理念とカリキュラム構成
- ロンドン大学ロンドン・スクール・オブ・エコノミクス（LSE）による学術的監修
- 入試制度および進路支援
- PDPが求める学生像
について詳しくご説明いただきました。
PDPは、日本の大学に在籍しながら、ロンドン大学の学位も取得できる、日本初の革新的なプログラムです。すべての専門科目がLSEによって監修され、試験も同大学が作成・採点を行うという、世界水準の学びを国内で実現しています。
本校のIB（国際バカロレア）PYP・MYP・DPプログラムで学んできた生徒たちにとって、探究的で批判的思考を重視するPDPの教育は、これまでの学びをさらに発展させる理想的な環境といえます。
国内外の進路を見据える生徒・保護者にとって、大きな刺激と可能性を感じる貴重な機会となりました。

Musashi University Parallel Degree Programme (PDP) Information Session Held at KIA Kobe Campus
On Friday, October 17, Kansai International Academy Kobe Campus welcomed Professor Ken Togo, Dean of the Faculty of Global Studies at Musashi University, to host an information session for parents and secondary students about the Parallel Degree Programme (PDP).
During the session, Professor Togo provided an in-depth explanation of:
- The philosophy and curriculum structure of the PDP
- The academic supervision by the London School of Economics (LSE), University of London
- The admission process and career support system
- The type of students the PDP seeks
The PDP is Japan’s first innovative programme that allows students to earn degrees from both a Japanese university and the University of London. All specialized courses are academically overseen by LSE, and examinations are created and graded by LSE as well—offering a truly world-class educational experience within Japan.
For students who have studied through KIA’s International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP, MYP, and DP programmes, the PDP’s emphasis on inquiry-based and critical thinking aligns perfectly with their learning journey, providing an ideal environment to further develop their global perspectives.
The session offered valuable insights and inspiration for students and parents exploring both domestic and international university pathways.
