7月22日、KIA中高等部では、毎年恒例のスピーチコンテストの決勝が開催されました。
このイベントは、生徒たちのプレゼンテーション力、相手を説得する力、そして英語スピーキング能力の成長を称える場です。
今年も、生徒たちはプロフェッショナルで情熱あふれる姿を見せてくれました。
その努力と成果を心から称えたいと思います。
今年のスピーチコンテストのテーマは「私にとって大切なことは、私たちにとっても大切なこと」。
生徒たちは、自分が心から大切に思うトピックを選び、それがどのように社会とつながっているかを英語でスピーチしました。
トピック選びの自由を与えることで、生徒たちの主体性や創造的・批判的思考力の育成を目指しました。
G7からG10の生徒たちが取り上げたトピックは実に多様で、生徒たちの広い関心と「よりよい社会をつくりたい」という強い思いが伝わってきました。
決勝当日は、10名のファイナリストが、それぞれの情熱がこもった、聞きごたえのある素晴らしいスピーチを披露してくれました。
1位、2位、3位を受賞した皆さんに心からお祝いを申し上げます。
同時に、すべてのスピーカーの皆さんも、自分の成果に大いに誇りを持っていただきたいと思います。
生徒たちの挑戦を支えてくださったすべての方々に、心より感謝申し上げます。

On July 22nd, KIA Secondary School held its annual Speech Contest Final. The event celebrates the students’ development in presentation skills, persuasive techniques and English speaking capabilities. This year, as always, the students conducted themselves with professionalism and passion, and we celebrate their achievements.
This year, the theme for the Speech Contest was ‘What matters to me, matters to us.’ The students were challenged to deliver a speech on a topic they felt personally passionate about and demonstrate its relevance to their wider community. By giving the students the freedom to choose their speech topic, we aimed to give them agency and encourage both creative and critical thinking skills. The wide range of topics chosen by all the students in grades 7-10 truly showcased the broad interests and strong drive they have for a better world.
At the final itself, our 10 finalists delivered speeches full of relevant ideas, clear passions, and of course, excellent English speaking skills. We would like to congratulate the first, second, and third place winners, but all the speakers should feel immensely proud of themselves.
Thank you to everyone who supported the students to deliver their best. We will see you again next year for another wonderful Speech Contest.
